Welcome to Kavanagh College |
|
Kavanagh College is a Catholic Co-Educational Years 7-13 school situated in the centre of Dunedin City, New Zealand. Catholic Education began on the site in 1876 making Kavanagh College one of the oldest Catholic schools in New Zealand. The College serves the city area and environs, aiming to provide excellence in education for Catholic students and others whose parents choose a Catholic education for their children. International students are also welcomed and supported through to graduation. Kavanagh College is known for its balanced academic, cultural and sporting curriculum, combining modern facilities with the latest technology in a vibrant University City environment. Message from the Principal
Since Kavanagh College has opened in 1989 it has established itself as a very effective co-educational school that focuses on three aspects of excellence. - Excellence in pastoral care.
- Excellence in academic, cultural and sporting achievement.
- Excellence in building and supporting our Special Character.
Our mission has become more focused. Through a planned process with Board, proprietor, parents, staff and students, including international students we have reorganized the curriculum so that both male and female students are successful. We have invested heavily in sport, culture and technology and results achieved reflect that commitment. We appoint staff who relate to students as people. We continue to express our faith in our daily lives. Relating the Gospels to our lives is central to the success we have had. Excellent teaching, supported by modern texts and Chaplains, continues to give students the confidence to embrace the secular world armed with a personal faith and confirmed beliefs. Most importantly, Kavanagh College has a proud history of welcoming international students and will continue to do so in this new millennium. We welcome your interest in the College and would be happy to respond to any issues that might arise.
