Kavanagh College Cross Country 2011
The College Cross Country is this Friday September 30. It is compulsory for all children in Years Seven to Ten. The course is not unreasonably difficult and we expect an honest attempt from everyone.
All the children will be bussed to the venue and then back to Kavanagh College by 3pm. There is a cost of $3 which is payable to the Bursar by Friday.
Venue: Kettle Park from the rugby fields in front of the clubrooms then along the top fields towards the Dinosaur Park and back via the soccer fields behind the ice stadium, across past the DRFC clubrooms then over to the marae behind the tennis courts opposite the Forbury Raceway, down onto Victoria Rd and finish in front of the DRFC clubrooms.
Race Start Times: Year Seven Girls 1.10pm, Year Seven Boys 1.15pm
Year Eight Girls 1.25pm, Year Eight Boys 1.30pm
Year Nine Girls 1.40pm, Year Nine Boys 1.45pm
Year Ten Girls 1.55pm, Year Ten Boys 2.00pm
Open Girls and Boys combined start 2.10pm
Children will be given race numbers at tutor time on Friday so we have a complete record of all participants. Crucial house points are also available.
Other; Parent Interviews are on next Thursday October 6. Bookings should be made via the website and the code is UM9SN. Interviews run from 2.30 until 7.45. School closes at 2pm that day.
Religious Education; Our ‘Wonder of Life’ sexuality unit is about to begin. Our teaching programme for this topic is based entirely around our Catholic beliefs and teachings so the content is entirely appropriate. Mrs Osten and Mrs O’Callaghan created this programme as part of their theological professional development in 2006 and it is used as a model in other schools. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact either of them or myself.
Best regards
Mr M. Campbell and the Year Seven and Eight Teachers
