Entry Requirement

None at present. However to obtain maximum benefit from this course it would be useful to have completed Year 9 and/or Year 10 Drama courses.



Course Outline

During the course the students will be able to:

  • Use drama techniques, elements and conventions to devise and perform drama.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of a theatre form through a practical presentation.
  • Perform in a variety of acting roles, scripted and improvised.
  • Research into the world of a significant play.

Understand and reflect on drama processes and performance



AS 90006 - Apply drama techniques in a dramtic context - 4 credits

AS 90997 - Devise and perform drama - 5 credits

AS 90999 - Use features of a theatre form in performance - 4 credits

AS 91000 - Demonstrate understanding of a significant play - 4 credits


Externals – students must do at least one

AS 90998 - Demonstrate understanding of features of a drama/theatre form-4 credits

AS 90011 - Demonstrate understanding of the use of drama aspects within live performance - 4 credits
