No entry requirement, however, students with an interest in Practical Art or History, will benefit from learning about the historical background, theory and meaning of art works.

Level 2 Literacy is strongly recommended (8 Credits)

Cost

$50  for two workbooks.

Course Outline

Early Modernism 1900 - 1940.

Gallery visits and research assignments are an integral part of the course.

AS 91485 - Examine the impact of media and processes on art works - 4 credits

AS 91488 - Examine the relationship(s) between a theory and art works - 4 credits

AS 91487 - Examine the different values placed on art works - 4 credits

Externals

AS 91482 - Demonstrate an understanding of style in art works - 4 credits

AS 91484 - Examine the relationship(s) between art and context - 4 credits

Where Does It Lead

Further study in any area of humanities at University.

Art History provides a good theoretical basis for any chosen study. 

To master critical and analytical skills both verbal and written.
