Entry Requirement

L1 Art and/or 12 credits at L2 Art Practical or by Art teacher's recommendation

Cost

$50 for the supply of materials taken home. The school provides all basic materials needed. Some students may wish to purchase their own higher quality materials which can be purchased through the Art department or Bursar, usually $30-40

All students require one set of high quality brushes, available from the Bursar's office for $12. The brushes will be owned and retained by the students. In addition, at the end of the year, students are charged for panels and tape for the folio which is then posted to NZQA- this is approximately $20.

AS 91448 - Use drawing to demonstrate understanding of conventions appropriate to printmaking - 4 credits

AS 91453 - Systematically clarify ideas using drawing informed by established printmaking practices - 4 credits

External

AS 91458 - Produce a systematic body of work that integrates conventions and regenerates ideas within printmaking practice - 14 credits

 

Where Does It Lead

A greater understanding of the procedures and practices which underlie the making of Art.

Entry into schools of Fine Arts, University courses and other tertiary courses such as Architecture, Design and Photography.

For students wishing to apply for entry into a University school of Art, at least one of the following Art subjects is required:

Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking or Sculpture
