Year 11 and 12 have "Goal" Time each Thursday, Period 1

Our aim during this time is to work with our senior students on issues related to careers, goal setting, resilience, habits and study skills.

This morning, Years 11 and 12 combined for a lecture from one of our Directors of Religious Studies. Hamish Sutherland is a great storyteller and he wove a story that talked about the history and meaning of Catholic Social Teaching.

Other topics covered this term have included goal setting, an introduction to study skills, the role of habits in our lives, organising our Google Drives for learning and building CV's.

Our Year 12 students will start preparing for their Road Safety Education day next term and we will continue with our Habitwize programme with both levels. Future sessions will focus on growth mindset, financial literacy, and specific study skills. We also hope to bring in people to speak about their lives after school in terms of their journey towards their own careers, the type of jobs they do or what they have learned during tertiary study. Many students have little understanding and a lot of nerves about what their future may look like.

If you know of someone or have your own interesting tale to share with our students about future life, feel free to get in touch with Rachel Mortimer
