Michaela Jensen (13WA) talks about her time with the New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds Band

From the 1st to the 6th of August I participated in the New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds in Auckland. The NZYSW is a concert band for youths aged 16 to 24.
Auditions were held in September the previous year and the summer workshop was held in late January in Wellington. The Auckland workshop was held over five days and was an amazing experience.
The band is usually playing pieces of grade 7 to 8 level which challenges the musicians.
Overall I loved the experience that the NZYSW offered me and I will definitely be auditioning again this year!
