Hockey Boys in Final

Kavanagh College First XI boys will play in the final of the Division 2 competition.

Tuesday afternoon saw the semi-final of the Boy’s Division 2 Hockey, with the Kavanagh XI playing the John McGlashan Under 15s.

Kavanagh made a great start, with a goal early in the first half to the season’s top goal scorer Nick Parata. The remainder of the half was a battle, with McGlashan threatening on several occasions only to be kept at bay with stoic defence from the likes of Fletcher and Graysen Thompson, Taryn Doyle, Ellery Campbell, Chandler Rodriguez and Captain, Jackson Paulin.

In the second half, Kavanagh again started well with a searing goal to Parata within the first two minutes. Kavanagh later extended their lead to 3-0 with Graysen Thompson tapping in. Kavanagh remained highly committed on defence throughout the half, desperately defending their goal until the final whistle.

The final will be played between Kavanagh and Otago Boy’s Second XI this Tuesday at 6:30pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated as they look to avenge last year’s final defeat.
