Cultural Exchange

This month, the Kavanagh Library was delighted to receive a visit from Javier Albornoz who is the vice principal from Jose Max Leon school in Columbia. Javier was in New Zealand visiting schools and promoting a student exchange programme between our two countries. 

We had organised in advance to exchange books that would be included in our respective school libraries. The books were chosen to reflect our countries' culture, diversity, environment and people. We now have five new books in the Kavanagh Library that reflect Columbia and it's cultural diversity. Some are written in multiple languages so you can practise your language skills! There is now also a little piece of Dunedin and New Zealand in Jose Max Leon school in Columbia.
