Brother Guy Consolmagno, Director of the Vatican Observatory visited Kavanagh College on Monday

He challenged the students to find something that makes them happy and to surround themselves with people they enjoy being with. He shared his life journey and admitted he was a nerd who loved science fiction. When asked about Play Station, he said he preferred books as they allowed his imagination to add to the words he was reading.

Brother Guy shared his passion for astronomy and learning. He told students, if you want to be a scientist, study English as being able to effectively communicate your research findings was essential.

Brother Guy is in New Zealand 26 April to 8 May. Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington. If you would like to hear Brother Guy speak, please check http://skies.catholicdiscovery.nz/ for a list of events that are open to the public.
