Teams Report

Development v OBHS
Unfortunately for the development team the heavens opened and the wind blew making a miserable night for hockey. Welcoming Jamie Hall back into goal, the team ripped into their work. Cody Paulsen made several promising runs, linking well with captain Gwen Wilson. Unfortunately the OB's defence was stout and their goalie remained unemployed. The game became defence orientated for us as OB's pushed forward and popped a couple of nice goals in. Fullbacks Malcolm Reynolds and Luca Holloway were kept in full employment and battled well, with Jamie making some great saves. 2 nil down at half time became four but a constant improvement from the Kav players kept everyone motivated and we finished the game hot on attack.

Firsts
The rain cleared for the firsts game against our old foe, Johnnies seconds. With a few absentees we had 10 players so Cody Paulsen doubled up and somehow found the energy to play another fantastic game. Playing a team with five subs, putting on fresh legs was a challenge that the players rose to. Hunter Burke played a man of the match game as a defensive rock in goal, repelling shot after shot, until a mishit from johnnies eluded him. Numerous promising attacks into the opposition circle were snuffed out and we went into half time 1 down, which soon became 2. The team rallied, and started to use the width of the field and a length of the pitch effort including most players put Graysen Thomson on a unstoppable run from the quarter line through the circle where he cracked a miracle shot into the corner of the goal. Constant pressure in the last minutes couldn't quite see an equaliser and the score remained 2-1.
