Girls Rugby

The Junior and Senior Girls Rugby teams completed their respective sevens tournaments last night at Logan Park

The junior girls ran away with comfortable wins against St Hilda's B and Queens to win their last four games in a row. The progress these girls have made as a group has been awesome and this bodes well for the future of girls rugby at Kavanagh.

The senior girls lost a very physical encounter to a tough East Otago side but they rallied well to comfortably beat Columba and finish with a 6 win and 2 loss record over the four weeks. Keisha Su'a and Matilda Garnett made some barnstorming runs and Nadia Uriaro played her best game.

The girls will now combine to form a mixed junior/senior team which will play in the 10 a side competition starting on June 5th.

A big thank you to Morgan Walker (coach) and Pete Gallagher (All Black and Kavanagh Girls Rugby Physio).
