Principal's Message

Talofa lava. Greetings again to the Kavanagh Community.

This week we have once again farewelled a member of our Kavanagh family. Sister Helen O’Neill was a former chaplain of Kavanagh. Those who knew her well remember her as being a compassionate and caring member of our Community who had the canny ability of knowing who needed extra help and support without being asked. She supported many students, families and staff during their most difficult times. May she rest in peace.

Congratulations to all students who were recognised at the Year 9 and 10 Sports Awards held yesterday There were a number of great performances throughout the year. Special mention to Erika Fairweather who was awarded the Intermediate Sportsperson of the Year award.

Last Tuesday, students from the OC or "Opportunity Class" for gifted and talented presented their projects to parents and staff. The areas of interest were diverse and students from Years 7 to 10 shared some incredible insights and new learnings. Well done to all these students and to Ms Maggie McGarry for her guidance and support.

As we head to the end of the year it is incredibly busy. Junior school reports are being completed. Year 8s head away to their camp next week and Year 10s on the 27th.

As always thank you all for your strong support.

Let's keep those less fortunate in our prayers.
