Kids' Lit Quiz Regional Finals

On Monday Kavanagh College was well-represented at the annual Kids' Lit Quiz regional finals for Otago at Dunedin North Intermediate School.
We had two teams: one Year 8 and one Year 7, both comprising four members each. There had been many rounds of trials here at Kavanagh prior to the real event to narrow our teams down to those final four for each team.
Kids' Lit Quiz is an international competition focussed on encouraging reading and enjoyment of a variety of excellent literature: latest novels, classics, myths and legends, and so forth.
Both teams competed well, with one highlight being that our Year 7 team got 4th in Otago - only one point behind 3rd, and only seven points behind 1st, so goals for next year! Our Year 8 team made a huge improvement on their practice scores, and both teams won awards for winning rounds within the competition. Well done everyone who represented our school so fantastically!
