Otago Athletics Champs Graced with Fine Weather and Great Performances

On Saturday 14th March Kavanagh College had 13 athletes involved in the Otago Athletics Champs at the Caledonian Ground.

Congratulations to 

Amalie Latton - 9th in the under 15 girls shot put
Eva Clarke - 6th in the under 16 100m and 7th in the 200m 
Mickle Jose - 6th in the senior boys shot put
Patrick Cotter - 5th in the boys under 14 discus (including a personal best)
Mila Stace - 15th in the under 14 long jump, 18th in the shotput and 6th in the heat of 100m 
Ruby De Graaf - 6th in the long jump, 5th in the high jump, 7th in the 100m and 7th in the 200m final
Samuel Kelly - 
3rd in the 80m hurdles and 7th in the 100m final
Oliver Lodge - 4th in the 1500m and 3rd in the 800m
Abby Simpson - 5th in the 800m, 3rd in the 1500m, 7th in the long jump and 3rd in the 3000m 
Jeremy Meikle - 13th in the long jump
Issac Tili - 11th in the long jump, 3rd in the high jump, 6th in the 400m and 6th in the 100m heat
Joseph Brennan - 1st in the 80m hurdles, 2nd in the 300m hurdles, 12th in the long jump and 6th in the 100m final
Isabel Castillo - in her first ever Otago champs finished 5th in the 400m

Congratulations also to the boys under 14 4x 100m relay team who finished 3rd. The team consisted of Joseph Brennan, Isaac Tili, Oliver Lodge and Jeremy Meikle.
