UPDATE

Please see below for updated information from the Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association

ALL OSSSA events, tournaments, and competitions have been suspended until further notice due to COVID-19 (this includes any pre-season meetings & entry dates that were scheduled).

We will make an announcement and update you as we progress through the alert levels. At the stage alert Level 3 runs for two weeks until Tuesday 12 May however this is not guaranteed.

I am obviously unable to provide you with a timeline of dates as to when/if your sport will be running again. We also don’t have clear enough information for alert Level 2 and what that will look like from the government or ministry of health to make a definitive decision regarding school sport. As far as I’m aware the NSO’s are in the process of putting together guidelines for each of their sports and these will be released in the next week or so, so until then it is a waiting game.

WINTER TOURNAMENT WEEK – I can confirm that School Sport NZ (the sanctioning body) will be making their announcement on 3rd May as to if Winter Tournament Week will go ahead or not and what it might look like. I can imagine a lot of you are holding out for this decision so you can cancel accommodation and flights etc. if needed
