Kia ora te whanau of Kawana

We are delighted with the start all our new children have made at Kavanagh College. While the overwhelming majority of new entrants have joined us in Year 7 there is a large group we have also welcomed into a variety of year levels from other schools. We are looking forward to every child making a significant contribution to our community here.

The turnout at the Year 7-9 Meet the Teacher afternoon was very pleasing and the atmosphere in the playground and in the canteen afterwards was excellent. There are Year 10-13 meet the Tutor Teacher interviews coming up, along with the formal Parent/Teacher interviews later in the term where we look forward to discussing your child’s pastoral and academic progress with you. Details about the interviews, and how to make an appointment, will be in upcoming newsletters. I have to say that from what I have seen, the industry and enthusiasm of the children should ensure some very positive interviews.

Summer sport is underway, auditions in the school musical are about to happen and itinerant music lessons have begun, so there is plenty to keep our young people busy.
