ST BERNADETTE'S SCHOOL VISIT

Room 1 from St Bernadette's School visited Kavanagh College yesterday to experience Te rā nui ki waho (The big day out).

This on-site, hands-on programme is a new initiative which involves Year 5 and 6 students from our Catholic primary schools visiting the college for the day and learning Digital Technology, Te reo Māori, Physical Education and Science. From diving deep into the digital moana (sea) with dolphins and tuna (eels) in Minecraft to hands-on combustion and melting experiments with science teacher Mrs Kerron Thomson, the students had a fantastic day of learning and new experiences.

It was lovely to spend the day with our Kāhui Ako colleagues and good friends to Mr Gerard Shaw and Mrs Siobhan Burke from St Bernadette's who accompanied the students.

Rūma Hoiho from St Joseph's Cathedral School is our next kura to visit in week five.
