St Joseph's Cathedral Organ Scholar

Oliver Peyroux performed his Level 2 Music solo recital at St Joseph's Cathedral this week.

His audience were captivated and delighted both by his performance of Bach and Clerembault and for the opportunity to get up close to the organ and ask questions about how it works.

Playing the organ requires the musician to read three lines of music at once (left hand, right hand and feet!), as well as change the stops to vary the timbre of sound coming from the pipes.

Oliver gained his scholarship at the end of last year and has been having lessons with David Burchell. Thanks for the performance and learning opportunity, Oliver!
