Tobias continues to perform at a stellar level in "matters mathematical". Tobias took part in the prestigious New Zealand Maths Olympiad (NZMO) competition, gaining a silver medal. This places him among the very finest young mathematicians in the country. As a result, he has now been invited to train for the New Zealand team at a camp in January.

In this year alone, in addition to studying more 2nd-year papers at university with exceptional grades, Tobias has an impressive list of achievements in mathematics (High Distinction in AMC) and in mathematics-related fields such as 1st in the NZ Physics and Mathematics Competition, and 12th in the NZ Informatics Competition. This latest news from NZMO is particularly impressive because the test questions are of an internationally-competitive standard. The problems in the exam are known to humble even the best mathematics students (and teachers) all over the world.

Tobias is in Year 12, and still finds time for football, ballet, contemporary dance, composition, trumpet, piano, and a number of other pursuits. The school is proud to celebrate his accomplishments.
