Year 10 Economics

A recent article in the Otago Daily Times regarding using drones to target and spray weeds in difficult to access high country areas provided a starting point for the Year 10 Economics students to discover other potential uses drones may have within the agribusiness sector.

Ideas included: collecting water samples, dispersing seeds, counting animals, herding animals using drones with dog barking sounds, photography and mapping, spraying weeds, checking the welfare of animals including when they are calving and lambing, fencing checks, security checks to prevent theft, dropping of supplies, checking wind and temperature.
