From Years 7 & 8

Greetings

A large number of children from Years 7 & 8 are looking forward to participating in the College musical next week.  They have worked hard and with good humour and we have no doubt they will be an asset to the already strong cast of students.

A very busy winter sports programme is now underway with teams participating in netball, miniball and hockey competitions in Dunedin.  The early signs are most promising with strong attendances at practices being rewarded with impressive results come game time.  As usual we have a battalion of teachers, senior students and parents ensuring every child gets a maximum opportunity. We look forward to the annual Taieri College interchange later this term and hosting Mt Aspiring College in Term 3.

Year 7 classes have spent time at the museum as part of their Science programme and last week had a team building day at the Edgar Centre.  These young people bring an energy and enthusiasm to the College that is infectious.

Last week Father Sani celebrated a mass for Years 7-9 students in the Cathedral and this week the whole school participated in an uplifting Mass for Pentecost.

It is not too early to start thinking about enrolments for next year. Feel free to put your name on a waiting list for an enrolment pack or if interested, a look around the school.  Please contact me mcampbell@kavanagh.school.nz
