Hockey Teams continue to Improve

Girls:

The ladies produced another sterling effort to defeat Toko 8-1. Holly Uluakiola opened her account for Kav, cracking home a ball that had been crafted through the mid field by Hannah Larson and Summer Paulin. This combination together with Gabby Snell and Bridgid Corson caused headaches for the Toko players all day. Thanks to Malcom Reynolds for padding up and taking the goal keeping duties, a couple of deft saves were observed!

Captain fantastic Sophie Wallis wove past defenders at will and smashed an astounding 7 goals past the hapless Toko goalie…truly outstanding effort.

Boys:The boys played Kings firsts in what could be described as an epic battle. Against the best boys secondary team we should have been looking at a cricket score especially as we had no subs. The first half was titanic and was one of the best halves of hockey Kavanagh has ever played. Captain Nick Parata was everywhere, Niall Quinn played one of his best games in a Kavanagh shirt, and everyone gave 100%.We were always going to struggle as the pace went up, with no reserves and Kings popped s couple in the net. A lovely flow of passes up field saw a penalty corner which the captain colt slotted.6-1 was the final score but didn’t reflect the game or effort put in by the lads- and Sophie who backed up for a second game
