YEAR 10 CAMP UPDATE

As we prepare to finish term three next week, it is a good time to start planning and preparing for Year 10 camp over the upcoming holidays. Parents, caregivers and students will find all of the information they need respective to their camp on the Year 10 Camp Google Classroom page.

Camp week for this cohort is 6 - 10 December and with term four being very busy, this week will arrive quickly. Yesterday during extended tutor time Iris and I met with the Year 10s about camp and already the students are getting excited. Did you know that Deep Cove in Pātea/Doubtful Sound, where the Fishing camp is located, receives about 6,000 mls of rainfall per year? Fiordland can be a very wet place and hiking around the spectacular Kā Mauka Whakatipu/Ailsa Mountains will give our trampers the opportunity to see how striking Mt Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks are. Rain or shine, being prepared and having good quality gear makes a big difference and I encourage whānau to borrow equipment (especially for the Tramping expedition) to save money.

Students will meet with their teachers who are leading the camps in week three and week five of next term during extended tutor time. Please get in touch if you have any questions or require support.

Ma te Atua e manaaki

God Bless.
