Hockey Teams playing well

Kavanagh College Hockey teams are continuing their good form this season

GIRLS:  The girls played Tokomairiro on a chilly night on the turf. Unfortunately we were only able to field nine players as sickness meant a lot of players were unavailable. Despite this, the girls played with real urgency and demonstrated some great skills. We conceded an early goal but fought back with many attacks but always seemed to be out numbered at key times. Keyra Webb made numerous saves and is a real rock in defence. Sarah Faulkner-Barclay played her best game for Kavanagh and revelled in the action.

BOYS:  The boys are starting to play some awesome hockey and are showing the benefits of practising and playing together. Fletcher Thomson featured in everything and put the icing on the cake with a cracker goal. Nick Parata kept the scorers busy with four and set Gabe Gallagher up for a super defection. Great to see what has been practised being put into action. Being up by so many gave the coaching staff a chance to run players in different positions and give others a break. Final score was South Otago 1, Kav 6.
