Rugby Teams on the Improve

Kavanagh College rugby teams are improving nicely as the season progresses

The round has certainly had its up and downs for the Kavanagh Colts with some close games to begin with and two big losses. However, the boys have had two consecutive wins and have been playing out of their skin. The Colts grade has been a step up for the boys and with credit to them all, they are playing as a team and getting better by the week. Keeping in mind our youngest member is 13 and our eldest turning 18 this year, the older boys have been supporting the younger boys by encouraging them on and off the field. We are looking forward to the remainder of the season with the challenge of the Colts grade being beneficial in regard to improving on skill, fitness and the game in general. The feedback from referees and parents has been positive, with great behaviour from the boys and exciting games to watch. Thank you for the continued support on the sideline from parents/caregivers and friends.

The First XV  played Taieri College at the weekend and were very competitive for 60 minutes, losing 53-25. The Sassanaches have continued to improve as the season has gone on and had a great win over Kings on Saturday 44-22.
