The library is offering students summer holiday reading bags to encourage students to read and improve literacy levels.
Studies in New Zealand and overseas have shown that students literacy levels can slide over summer. This is called the Summer Reading Slump. The library wants to combat this by offering a bag with a selection of books, based on the student's preferences, to be issued for the summer holidays.
The bags and books will need to be returned early in term 1 2022. A big thank you to The Dunedin Public Library and The University Bookshop who have generously provided us with treats and vouchers to include with the books. Any student is welcome to a bag of summer reading. Come into the library and fill out a form outlining your book preferences, give it to Mrs Mahoney and we will put a bag together for you. You are most welcome to pick your books too. Any questions please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
