2018 has proven to be a very good season. I am proud to have co-coached the Kavanagh Year 7/8 hockey team with Nick Parata this year
Overall, the skill level of our team improved remarkably which culminated in a 7-1 win over Tahuna to finish the season. We were supported this season by Max, Oscar, Brent and George from St Josephs. With the team being mostly Year 7 it is looking like next year will be a cracker.
At the prize giving Jamie Hall was named most valuable male goalie of the year and Drew White got an award for contribution to umpiring.
Kavanagh hockey is strong. It is never too late to join in the fastest growing youth sport in New Zealand.
Thanks to all the parents and supporters for their contributions during the season. Bring on summer hockey and 2019.
