Hockey teams continue to improve nicely

Girls:
The first game of the term started really well for the girls with some great runs into the opposition 23 and nice inter-passing. Unfortunately we couldn't get any shots away and went into half time tied nil all. OGHS came out a little sharper and squeezed three goals home in quick succession. The girls never gave in and continued to work the ball around but just missed getting the ball to the free player in the circle. A win is within grasp as the team continues to develop.

Boys:
It would be unfair to say it was Nick Parata vs John McGlashan as the whole team contributed to a fine all round performance, but he did score a record six goals! Jackson Paulin broke his duck and found the back of the net. This team is playing some very fine hockey and wouldn't be out of place in Division 1. The defence fell asleep for five minutes and JMC came back with a couple of goals, but demonstrating how far they have developed we immediately struck back. All players are getting involved, with the young players developing nicely.
