YEAR EIGHT CAMP 2020

By Shaun Haig | Posted: Wednesday June 10, 2020

Greetings everyone.

Our four Year Eight classes will attend camp together this year and take part in a wide range of Outdoor Education activities.

These include abseiling, rock climbing, kayaking and a bush walk.

This camp is a fantastic event on the school calendar and one that gets the best out of every child that attends.

We understand this is a difficult time and that seeing costs and associated information can seem a lot. Please be assured this is simply information sharing. We certainly don't want to apply any pressure to families re cost. It is our hope that all students attend, we do not want money to be a factor.

VENUE:

Camp Columba, Pukerau, Gore

DATES

Tuesday 24th November – Friday 27th November.

COST

The cost of camp has been confirmed at $240

This covers all transport, food, accommodation, and professional instructors for the adventure activities which require specialist instruction.

We are aware this is a considerable cost and have kept the cost as low as possible.

Payment can be initiated with the Bursar as soon as you wish. Payment plans are available. Please contact the Bursars office for more information.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

Financial help will be available for anyone who needs and requests it.

Please contact myself or Liz Cameron lcameron@kavanagh.school.nz as soon as possible if assistance is required. This will be in the strictest confidence.

PARENT HELP

In order to run these camps we will require parents to assist during the week. Parents always find the week at camp to be great fun and very rewarding.

Volunteers will need to complete a police vetting form. More information to follow here.

If you would like to volunteer to be ‘parent help’ please email me direct with your child’s name and tutor class. Please note that there is no cost to parents.

If there are any questions please make contact.

Kind Regards,

Shaun Haig
