The library has been a hive of activity this term.

Our library has always been a hub for reading, learning and knowledge but over this term, it has been even more popular with our students. It has been heartening to see more of our students using this inclusive space to relax and socialise during morning tea and lunchtime.

This term we have welcomed a whole crew of new student librarians. Keziah Porthouse, Jari Feldmeier, Layla Marunui, Aurelia Holmes, Matthew Lemon, Harry Rich, Laura Tagg, Theodora Clarke-Wallace, Made Newson, Daphne Kendrick, Sophie Fischer, Jessica White and Avana Matika. They are extremely helpful and have made great additions to our existing librarian team.

The first meeting of our book club, 'Books and Biscuits' was held this term. This is always popular with our students. They love the new books we save for them, and of course, the biscuits are also a draw card. If you missed out this term never fear we will hold another meeting during term 2.

Our Trinity Catholic Library Reading Challenge has started with a bang. So far this year has proven to be our best yet with 126 challenges being completed. This equates to 628 books read by our students during term 1!  McAuley is currently leading with 294 house points. Well done McAuley members.

Term 2 will see our Book Week festivities commence. We will have class and library activities, book competitions, an author visit and a book character dress-up day. This will be a highlight of term 2. Watch this space!
