On Monday the 10th of February the Year 12 Geography class took a trip down to the Otago University campus for the afternoon, to find out information for our upcoming internal about Scarfie Culture.

We began our trip by meeting our tour guide an ex Kavanagh student Jess Blyth, who showed us around the campus and taught us about student culture. From there she showed us vital student locations like the library, lecture theatres and the overall favourite, Hyde Street where we learned about student flatting, and how rent prices are exceptionally high in Hyde Street because you get free tickets to the annual Hyde Street party. Ken from Campus Watch educated us about campus safety and all of Campus Watch's resources to ensure student safety. We then had the privilege of being able to enter one of the halls of residence, UniCol, for a tour, where we met Josh and Katrina who continued to inform us about student life and take us around the rooms and common spaces in the Hall.
