Special Character Reflection

Dear Jesus Christ, please make me strong and let me keep my faith unto the end. Give me grace and power to resist oppositions and stop their advances. Anoint me to keep the flag of your gospel flying, and let me rejoice in all ramifications of life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

And we're back at it again! Welcome to week 3 of the newsletter in term 2! There will be no hidden message this week, in fact, for those of you who spent a great amount of time searching last week, we actually forgot to add it in! Silly us! ?

This term has already been very eventful as we had our first House Group feast day last week, and tomorrow we have our school cross country!

Last week we had a liturgy for the Rice house group, as the 5th of May (last friday) was the Blessed Edmund Rice Feast Day. After the liturgy we had a sausage sizzle for everyone in Rice House! Blessed Edmund Rice is the perfect example of servant leadership, a remarkable individual who was moved by the Holy Spirit to dedicate his life to serving God, through looking after the marginalized. He founded the Congregation of Christian Brothers and Presentation Brothers, who aimed to provide education and support for young people in need, particularly in Ireland. The Christian Brothers are one of the founding Orders of our school. Throughout this school year we will also be commemorating the feast days of our other house groups, Venerable Nano Nagle, St Dominic and Venerable Catherine McAuley.

At Trinity we also have camps named ‘Edmund Rice Camps’. These are camps where camp leaders, such as seniors in our school, create safe spaces where children, young people, and families can thrive and belong, equipping them with the strength to overcome childhood adversity and trauma. The camps are a fun way to escape the real world and just be surrounded with friends and kids that all look up to you. We encourage those that are 16 years of age or older to get involved with these camps!
