Scholarship Results - Outstanding!

We were thrilled to read of our students' successes in NZQA Scholarship examinations 2021.

As background for you, students can opt into Scholarship exams which are tutored by staff in school and/or external scholarship tutors who we have access to. Our thanks goes to the staff involved in preparing these students for their exams. Students sit their usual NCEA exams and then sit scholarship papers in addition.

We were pleased to gain five scholarships in 2021, with two more results still pending. Congratulations to

  • Riley Mortimer - Scholarship in History
  • Tobias Devereux - Scholarship in Technology; Outstanding Scholarships in Calculus, Physics, and Statistics

In addition, Tobias gained a Top Subject Scholar Award in Physics (indicating the top mark nationally), and a Premier Award, awarded to only 12 students in the country. Of these, Tobias is the only student in the South Island to gain this significant award. Well done!!

Considering the disruption caused by lockdown in term three, we also congratulate our students who came very close to the cut-off mark for a scholarship (in many cases just one point off!)
